graham smith - chief executive officer
Graham, a former English League professional with West Bromwich Albion, Notts County, Colchester United and Cambridge, founded First Wave in 1990, after serving for five years as a main Board Director of Chelsea Football Club. For ten years prior to joining Chelsea, he was head of PR/promotions for sportswear companies Adidas and Le Coq Sportif in the UK.
A fully licensed coach both with the English FA and US Soccer, Graham coached PDL side Ventura County Fusion to the winning slot in 2009. Graham was also one of the original founders of Sacramento Republic FC. During his four year tenure as Technical Director and Director of Football, he constructed the playing squad that went on to win the national championship as well as Western Conference champions.
Graham has overseen the careers of many top international players and continues to make himself accessible to all players from college level upwards.
Stefani Miglioranzi - President
Born in Brazil, Stefani grew up playing the sport he loved and achieved his dream of becoming a professional soccer player.
A member of the 1996 National Championship team at St John's University in New York, Stefani graduated with a degree in Sports Administration in 1998. After playing for 4 years at the college level, Stefani played at the professional level in the English Football Leagues for 8 years (Portsmouth FC; Swindon Town FC), and Major League Soccer for 6 years (LA Galaxy; Columbus Crew – part of the 2008 MLS Cup Championship team; Philadelphia Union).
After a successful playing career that spanned 18 years, Stefani knows what it takes to win but will not compromise his integrity in the pursuit of winning. As a USSF registered players' agent, Stefani has helped guide the next generation of players to reach their ultimate potential on and off the field.
Stefani holds a FIFA Match Agent License, is a licensed USSF coach, and speaks 4 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.
Martin Saavedra - Registered Intermediary
Martin forms part of the First Wave group of FIFA player agents working at both national and international levels. Based in Los Angeles, Martin has built up a stable of European and domestic players playing not only in MLS but also in various leagues around the world.
With extremely strong contacts in the whole of the Americas, Martin has presented opportunities to both established and young aspiring players. Martin holds a degree in Business studies and Sports Management, having previously been recruited by the LMU soccer program. He is bi-lingual, and demonstrates a lasting empathy with his growing client base.
Frank I. hoppe - general counsel
With extensive experience providing legal and business guidance to sports, technology and service companies in outside and in-house positions, Frank serves as First Wave’s General Counsel. He is responsible for all aspects of First Wave’s expanding global legal endeavors.
Prior to First Wave, Frank served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Kaseya; President and founding member of Hoppe General Counsel Services; Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at West Corporation (NASDAQ: WSTC); and Vice President of Corporate Development at uRoam, Inc. (acquired by F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV)). Previously, he also worked as associate counsel at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, and the law firm Krieg, Keller, Sloan, Reilley & Roman.
In addition to his J.D. from UC Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, Frank received his B.A., with distinction, as an Echols Scholar from the University of Virginia, where he served as Chairman of the University’s student-run Judiciary Committee.
